This is a picture of Hurricane Katrina.  It was located at Louisiana, and hit New Orleans badly.

This thunderstorm is striking and trying to knock down a tree.  Thunderstorms are common in the Southeast.

The mountains in the Southeast have very cold, heavy snow fall.

Heavy snowfall is common in some states. Most of the snowfall in the Southeast happens in the Appalachian Mountains. 

Tampa, Florida  can get  80 days of thunderstorms.  They can have 24 hours of rain.  They can get a lot of rain because  they are close to the Atlantic Ocean.
